Just a few things I always have in the back of my mind while I'm shopping...just in case I stumble across the perfect one. Or find a great pattern to make it myself...
paper-bag-waist.
flowy-summery-shirt.
eyelet detail. gladiators. (never had any!) more eyelet... long dress.
Here are some pictures I took of the flowers around our property today - so amazing! They're so colourful and vibrant. Lovely flowers for a beautiful day on a great long weekend...doesn't get much better than that. Happy Victoria Day!
Wouldn't you just love to sit down to eat at a beautifully set table all the time? There's something about centrepieces and table settings that make me so happy. Like these from Chic-deco.
Beautiful outdoor spaces. Especially ones with outdoor fireplaces, like these photos. There are lots of place in the city where you can't have a fire pit in the backyard, but what about an enclosed fireplace? Not the same bonfire effect, but still warm and cozy. I once saw an article about a family who's fireplace was double sided - it was in the living room on the inside of their house, and on the enclosed patio on the outside. Amazing.
Check out this grey mix hoodie I made! That's right, it's a Heidi Headon original :) I made it from a pattern I found at Fabricland a while ago. I like it! I also made myself a pair of sweat pants from the same material. It's cozy, it's warm, and it's only $20! First to speak for it, gets priority. Facebook me or leave a comment here. (Can fit size 6, 8, or 10).
Here they are! They turned out really well - the recipe was easy to follow, and very accurate. Next time I'll roll the pastry out even thinner, so I can get more out of it. I filled 3 with Nutella and the rest with raspberry jam. Worth a try!
I love Lauren Moffatt's designs! Her style is really laid back and relaxed but interesting and unique at the same time. (ps I'm choosing a project tonight for the sewing course I'm taking, so I'm looking for all the inspiration I can find! I'll keep you up to date on my progress in future posts.)
I just stumbled on this article - The most beautiful ferry rides in the US. I absolutely love being on the water, and I think this is the perfect activity to add to a vacation. I happen to know that taking the Staten Island Ferry is free both ways - so why not?
Here's a collection of photos with some fabulous colour inspiration, especially for spring. You may notice that black is absent in most of what I post. It's not my neutral of choice - I much prefer greys or whites. Add a cool colour on top and I'm happy. More than one cool colour is even better (like the balloons).
