New skirt!

I recently found this awesome chiffon at Fabricland and, naturally, I had to have it.  I was going to make it myself (during the last 2 weeks leading up to my wedding - ya right), but my amazing Aunt Donna took it home with her and "whipped it up" for me.  I'm so blessed, I know.  It fits perfectly and is super comfortable - love it!  (Plus I just realized it has BOTH the chevron and geometric prints I've been loving lately!)

It's the first day of fall!  While I do love summer, I have to admit I'm enjoying the cooler weather and anticipation of the changing colours of the maple trees around our neighbourhood.  I'm looking forward to eating more pumpkin pie than I should and spending time with family at Thanksgiving.  In honour of the new season, I thought I'd share a few colours I'd like to experiment with this fall...

Kitchen Cupboard Makeover

My first big home DIY project is completed!  I've been wanting to re-do these kitchen cabinets since I moved in last October, and decided to finally get moving on the project before putting all of our lovely new wedding gifts away.  We pulled off all of the cabinets, carted them to my dad's shop, and he sprayed them with his handy pressure sprayer.  Then we put them all back on and shopped around (by that I mean headed to Home Depot), and found some new handles.  While the cabinets were off, my good friend Tory repainted the walls to a nice grey (I'm not a huge fan of beige).  And voila!  I'll estimate this makeover cost about $120 + time.  And I love it!

Lately I've been loving...

Chevron!  This print is everywhere I look, and I love it.  Any colour, any size.  There's something so classic about, which I think is hard to achieve with a print.  You will definitely see this print making an appearance around my house in the near future.  (I don't know where...but I'll figure it out..)  Here are a few favourites I found on Pinterest.

Favourite Wedding Details

I already finished my "Making the Dress" series - and that dress was definitely one of my favourite details. But there were so many more details that made our day unique and I wanted to share them with you!  Our wedding day was definitely the biggest DIY event we've ever put on - but all of the time and energy was well worth it.  Of course we couldn't have done it alone; we had tons of help!  Thanks a million to everyone who pitched in :)

Honeymoon to Greece: Part 3

To end off our journey, we spent two more nights in Mykonos, then Crete, then Athens before flying home.  We had a great time in Athens (basically unaffected by any political unrest) - exploring the city and experiencing the unique culture and history.
